What You Need to Know
Much has been said about Christ. Much of it wrong.
Too many people have merely invented a Jesus from their religious upbringing and a pop culture discourse without doing much investigation on their own in the actual texts of Scripture. Even while in the texts, most bring in a prejudice and bias that taints and distorts the simple and clear meaning of what they read. As a former atheistically-inclined agnostic I know that method far too well – cherry picking verses out of context and redefining terms to fit my own agenda.
I’d like to encourage you to spend some time reading the bible for yourself.
If God has spoken to us through the prophets and apostles then we must listen to what has been said. I propose to you that He has done just that. Christ has given us the single most incredible message that one could ever hear –
Despite your inescapable shortcomings and sin. Despite your turning away from truth and your constant breaking of the law of God. And despite the deserved punishment and judgment that awaits you – God can and will forgive you for all that you have ever done, are doing and will do in the future. Why? Because in His infinite mercy and love He chose to send His only Son to be the sacrifice that will make things right between you and Him.
Christ kept the law perfectly. He lived righteously. And He died on the cross for sinners just like you and just like me. Christ’s own life on our behalf. He took the punishment of all who will turn to and trust in Him and He rose from the dead on the third day defeating death itself proving that He was indeed God.
Only by faith, completely trusting in Christ’s sacrifice can we have forgiveness and a reconciled relationship with God. There is no other way.
By the grace of God our hearts are opened to hear this blessed truth. Are you believing what He has said ? Do you have sorrow over your sins and are you ready to trust and pursue a life that is pleasing to God?
If so, contact me and I’ll direct you to a good fellowship in your area who can speak with you more about God’s great redemption.
